FOOL’S GOLD – AMY WINEHOUSE

Amy Jade Winehouse (born 14 September 1983)  is an English singer-songwriter, known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including R&B, soul, jazz, rock & roll, and ska.  Winehouse is best known for her soulful, powerful contralto  vocals.
Winehouse's 2003 debut album Frank was commercially and critically successful in her native Britain. It was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Her 2006 follow-up album Back to Black led to six Grammy Award nominations and five wins, tying the record for the most wins by a female artist in a single night, and made Winehouse the first British singer to win five Grammys, including three of the "Big Four": Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year. On 14 February 2007, she won a BRIT Award for Best British Female Artist; she had also been nominated for Best British Album. She has won the Ivor Novello Award three times, one in 2004 for Best Contemporary Song (musically and lyrically) for "Stronger Than Me", one in 2007 for Best Contemporary Song for "Rehab", and one in 2008 for Best Song Musically and Lyrically for "Love Is a Losing Game", among other prestigious distinctions. The album was the third biggest seller of the 2000s in the United Kingdom.
Winehouse has been credited as being an influence in the rise in popularity of female musicians and soul music and revitalising British music.
Winehouse has received media attention apart from her singing. Her distinctive style has been the muse for fashion designers such as Karl Lagerfeld. The singer's problems with drug and alcohol addiction, as well as self-destructive behaviour, have become regular tabloid news since 2007. She and her former husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, were plagued by legal troubles that left him serving prison time. In 2008, Winehouse faced a series of health complications that threatened both her career and her life.

Fool's Gold
Amy Winehouse
Composição: Amy Winehouse

She sits home and dreams
That her man will leave his mark on her hand
He’s not all he seems
But she’s seen a dress, she has the flowers planned
Now she won’t be happy
'Till she look down and sees the engagement ring
It’s for security
But she will be waiting years for her wedding

(chorus)
For me it aint real
It’s fools gold
There too many fools sold
Not an excuse oh
For me it ain't real
It’s fools gold
I don’t hear everything I’m told

He won’t change her life
He just chasing tail
And wasting her time
She calls herself his wife
He calls her at 8 says be here by 9
She don’t notice how when she gets the ring
It’s not a good fit
So next time that they row
She throws it out
It goes to the last girl he hit

(chorus)
Cuz for me it ain't real
It’s fools gold
There too many fools sold
Not an excuse, oh
For me it ain't real
It’s fools gold
I don’t hear everything I’m told

So take the gold you find
And for your own sake
Hold it in your hand
Now make sure you bite down
And watch your tooth don’t break on that wedding band

(chorus)
For me it ain't real
It’s fools gold
There too many fools sold
Not an excuse oh
For me it aint real

FUTURE CONTINUOUS

Future Continuous has two different forms: "will be doing " and "be going to be doing." Unlike Simple Future forms, Future Continuous forms are usually interchangeable. Here, we’ll speak about the form with “Will”.

FORM Future Continuous with "Will".

[will be + present participle]

Examples:
  • You will be waiting for her when her plane arrives tonight.
  • Will you be waiting for her when her plane arrives tonight?
  • You will not be waiting for her when her plane arrives tonight.

USE 1 Interrupted Action in the Future

Use the Future Continuous to indicate that a longer action in the future will be interrupted by a shorter action in the future. Remember this can be a real interruption or just an interruption in time.

Examples:

  • I will be watching TV when she arrives tonight.
  • I will be waiting for you when your bus arrives.
  • He will be studying at the library tonight, so he will not see Jennifer when she arrives.

USE 2 Specific Time as an Interruption in the Future

In USE 1, described above, the Future Continuous is interrupted by a short action in the future. In addition to using short actions as interruptions, you can also use a specific time as an interruption.

Examples:

  • At midnight tonight, we will still be driving through the desert.
We will be in the process of driving through the desert.

STAR TREK

Cast: Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Zachary Quinto, Eric Bana, Simon Pegg, Leonard Nimoy
Director: JJ Abrams

"Set phasers on fun"

JJ Abrams has done it! The man who confused the world with Lost and destroyed New York with Cloverfield has managed the impossible - he has made a Star Trek movie which will satisfy the fans, as well as bring a whole new generation of Trekkies to the franchise.
Quite simply he has made a bloody brilliant movie! Going back to the original characters of Kirk, Spock and Bones and introducing them as they meet for the first time at Starfleet was a huge gamble.
Would fans accept seeing different actors playing the iconic roles? Was there any life in a franchise which had wilted on TV and film? Would a new generation of cinema goers know or care about the history of the Trek universe?
Well fans and non-fans can rest assured that thanks to a tight script from Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Mission Impossible 3, Transformers), top notch special effects and a cast that are clearly relishing their roles, Star Trek brings fun to the big screen - a welcome relief from the moody fantasy movies like The Dark Knight and Watchmen.
Abrams is quoted as saying he looked at the second movie in the series The Wrath of Khan for inspiration and it is clear he has taken basic elements from that movie.

UPDATED STARCRAFT II CAMPAIGN IMPRESSIONS

Playing the beta? Here's what you're missing.

April 23, 2010 - I don't envy the team at Blizzard who has to design StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. Following up one of the biggest PC games of all time is no easy feat, and the demands of nostalgic fans must be overwhelming. Think about it: If Blizzard were to release a game that was largely the same but with better visuals people would complain they didn't do enough, but if they drastically change the core gameplay elements -- like so many other RTS games have done lately -- franchise veterans would scream and shout that they destroyed all the good things about the original game.

But Blizzard is a company full of experts in their craft, and has made a game that feels wonderfully balanced between being "something new" and "something familiar." Alongside the mostly recognizable artstyle and classic gameplay elements that other RTS franchises have largely abandoned (harvesting resources, for instance), Blizzard has introduced loads of new lore and customization options that will give even the most hardcore StarCraft player something to experience for the first time. And if multiplayer is your thing, or you think it might be and are scared to try it because you don't know what you're doing, Blizzard's kept you in mind, too. A new series of Challenges are included for players to tackle in order to cut their teeth before diving headlong into multiplayer, or for seasoned players to play in order to see just how good their skills really are.

THE SIMPSONS

The Simpsons is an American animated television sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical parody of a working-class American lifestyle epitomized by its eponymous family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional city of Springfield, and lampoons American culture, society, television and many aspects of the human condition.
The family was conceived by Groening shortly before a pitch for a series of animated shorts with the producer James L. Brooks. Groening created a dysfunctional family and named the characters after members of his own family, substituting Bart for his own name. The shorts became a part of The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. After a three-season run, the sketch was developed into a half-hour prime time show and was an early hit for Fox, becoming the first Fox series to land in the Top 30 ratings in a season (1989–1990).
Since its debut on December 17, 1989 the show has broadcast 459 episodes and the twenty-first season began airing on September 27, 2009. The Simpsons Movie, a feature-length film, was released in theaters worldwide on July 26 and July 27, 2007, and grossed US$527 million worldwide.

The popularity of The Simpsons has made it a billion-dollar merchandizing industry. The title family and supporting characters appear on everything from t-shirts to posters. The Simpsons has inspired special editions of well-known board games, including Clue, Scrabble, Monopoly, Operation, and The Game of Life, as well as the trivia games What Would Homer Do? and Simpsons Jeopardy!. Several card games such as trump cards and The Simpsons Trading Card Game have also been released. Many official or unofficial Simpsons books such as episode guides have been published. Many episodes of the show have been released on DVD and VHS over the years. When the first season DVD was released in 2001, it quickly became the best-selling television DVD in history, although it was later overtaken by the first season of Chappelle's Show. In particular, seasons one through twelve have been released on DVD in the U.S. (Region 1), Europe (Region 2) and Australia/New Zealand/Latin America (Region 4) with more seasons expected to be released in the future.
In 2003, about 500 companies around the world were licensed to use Simpsons characters in their advertising. As a promotion for the The Simpsons Movie, twelve 7-Eleven stores were transformed into Kwik-E-Marts and sold The Simpsons related products. These included "Buzz Cola", "Krusty-O" cereal, Pink doughnuts with sprinkles, and "Squishees".

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN? – CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL

Creedence Clearwater Revival (often abbreviated CCR) was an American rock band that gained popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s with a number of successful singles drawn from various albums.
The group consisted of lead vocalist, lead guitarist, and primary songwriter John Fogerty, his brother and rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, bassist Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford. Their musical style encompassed rock and roll and swamp rock genres. Despite their San Francisco Bay Area origins, they are sometimes also cited as southern rock stylists.
CCR's music is still a staple of American and worldwide radio airplay and often figures in various media. The band has sold 26 million albums in the United States alone. CCR was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.

Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm
I know, it's been comin' for some time

When it's over, so they say
It will rain a sunny day
I know, shinin' down like water

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
Comin' down on a sunny day

Yesterday, and days before
Sun is cold and rain is hard
I know, been that way for all my time

And forever, on it goes
Through the circle, fast and slow
I know, it can't stop, I wonder

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
Comin' down on a glorious day

Yeah!

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
Comin' down on a glorious day

VAMPIRE DIARIES

Four months after the tragic car accident that killed their parents, 17-year-old Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and her 15-year-old brother, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), are still adjusting to their new reality. Elena had studied and she is considerate beautiful, popular and involved with school and friends, but now she had found herself struggling to hide her grief from the world. Elena and Jeremy are now living with their cool-but-overwhelmed Aunt Jenna (Sara Canning) who is doing her best to be a surrogate parent.
Elena manages to find some comfort with her familiar social circle – best friend Bonnie (Katerina Graham), frenemy Caroline (Candice Accola), and former boyfriend Matt (Zach Roerig) but Jeremy had stayed on a more dangerous path, hanging out with the stoners and had used some drugs to hide his pain. Jeremy is also trying to figure out why Matt's sister, Vicki (Kayla Ewell), is suddenly rejecting him and hanging out with Jeremy's rival, Tyler (Michael Trevino).
As the school year begins at Mystic Falls High, Elena and her friends are fascinated by a handsome and mysterious new student, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Stefan and Elena are immediately drawn to one another, although Elena is puzzled by Stefan's increasingly bizarre behavior when he appears suddenly at the cemetery where her parents are buried. What she hasn’t realized is that Stefan is hiding a dark, deadly secret of his own – the fact that he's a vampire. At a bonfire party the next night, Elena and Stefan are just getting to know each other when chaos erupts after Vicki is attacked and left bleeding from a savage bite to the neck.
Fearing that he knows who is responsible for the attack, Stefan returns home and finds his older brother, Damon (Ian Somerhalder), whom he hasn't seen for 15 years. Damon is also a vampire, and the two brothers have a long and bitter history. Damon ridicules Stefan for rejecting their legacy of violence and brutality, but he understands his brother's obsession with Elena, since she looks exactly like a woman Stefan loved more than a century ago; a woman that Damon tried to make his own. Now these two vampire brothers – one good, one evil – are at war for Elena's soul and for the souls of her friends, family and all the residents of Mystic Falls, Virginia.

I wish we had taken more pictures together

Ozzy had said, "I was doing it for the sake of what we could get out of the record company, just to get fat on beer and put a record out."

AVATAR

The film broke several box office records during its release and became the highest-grossing film of all time in North America and worldwide, surpassing Titanic, which had held the records for the previous 12 years. It also became the first film to gross more than $2 billion. Following the film's success, Cameron stated that there will be a sequel. Avatar was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, and won three, for Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects and Best Art Direction.

TALK - COLDPLAY

Oh brother I can't, I can't get through
I've been trying hard to reach you
'Cause I don't know what to do
Oh brother I can't believe it's true
I'm so scared about the future
And I wanna talk to you
Oh I wanna talk to you

You could take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be?
You could climb a ladder up to the sun
Or write a song nobody had sung or do
Something that's never been done

Are you lost or incomplete?
Do you feel like a puzzle,
You can't find your missing piece?
Tell me how do you feel
Well I feel like they're talking
In a language I don't speak
And they're talking it to me

So you take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be?
You could climb a ladder up to the sun
Or write a song nobody had sung or do
Something that's never been done, do
Something that's never been done

So you don't know where you're going
And you wanna talk
And you feel like you're going
Where you've been before
You'll tell anyone who'll listen
But you feel ignored
And nothing's really making any sense at all,
Let's talk
Let's talk, let's talk, let's talk

PAST PERFECT

TRAVEL OF IA08 TO SÃO FRANCISCO DO SUL

March 19, IA08 went to São Francisco do Sul to know the historical side of the city. We had navigated for the sea there, to explore with our teacher all the good things of ‘SANFRAN’. the name of the teacher is Mariléia, and she had teached us about the museum of the city, talking about the diversity that there is in that place, and trying to take us to see, and to talk with our friends what we guess about it.
The trip was so nice, because the majority of the IA08 follow all the rules which was indicated by the teacher. They had dived in the sea, and swim to the other side of the island. And they had taken a lot of photos. We had walked on the ‘Francisquinha’ and enjoyed it. That was a great walking. Had you been there before? If not, you have to know because São Francisco do Sul is a very, very historical place, one of the oldest city in Brazil!
Beyond all things that we passed, we had lunched all together, and stayed enjoying all the visual that the city has to show for everybody. And then we went back to the adventure!
We hadn’t realized that the travel will be so fun, and we will be waiting that IA08 travel more times together, and that this moment will be unforgettable for everybody!

USED TO LOVE HER – GUNS ‘N’ ROSES

I used to love her,
but i had to kill her
I used to love her,
but i had to kill her

I had to put her, six feet under
and I can still hear her complain

I used to love her, (whoa yeah)
but I had to kill her
I used to love her, (oooo yeah)
but I had to kill her

I knew I'd miss her,
So I had to keep her
She's buried right in my backyard
(whoa yeah)
(whoa yeah)
(whoo-oo yeah)

I used to love her,
but I had to kill her
I used to love her, (whoa yeah)
but i had to kill her

She bitched so much,
she drove me nuts
And now we're happier this way, alright
(whoa yeah)
(whoa)
(whoo-oo yeah)

I used to love her,
but I had to kill her
I used to love her(ooooh yeah)
but I had to kill her

I had to put her, six feet under
and I can still hear her complain yeah-eeeah

THE DAY OF THE JOKER

When I used to read, I really liked the book 'The Day of The Joker'(the author Jostein Gaarder).
The book tells the story of a boy named and his father, crossing Europe from Norway to Greece in search of the woman that left eight years earlier. In the middle of the journey, a mysterious book triggers a parallel narrative, in which Greek myths, curses the family, shipwrecked and playing cards that come to life make travel to Hans-Thomas in an authentic introduction to the pursuit of knowledge - or to philosophy. The day of the Joker is the story of many fantastic journeys that intertwine in a single trip and even more fantastic - and that can only be done by a great adventurer: the reader.

RANCID

Early history (pre-1993)

Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman had been playing together in the influential ska punk band Operation Ivy from 1987–1989. When Operation Ivy broke up they decided to form a new band, and started another ska punk band called Downfall, which only lasted a few months. They then started a hardcore punk group called Generator,[6] which also quickly broke up. They also started two other ska influenced bands, and Dance Hall Crashers, but moved on quickly from both. In 1991 Tim and Matt decided to try starting yet another band. They recruited drummer Brett Reed and formed Rancid.
Rancid's first recorded release was a 1992 EP for Operation Ivy's old label Lookout! Records. Shortly after releasing this, the band was signed to Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz's label, Epitaph Records. Rancid would release their self titled debut album for Epitaph in 1993.

ORIGINS AND PUBLISHING HISTORY THE HARRY POTTER

In 1990, J. K. Rowling was on a crowded train from Manchester to London when the idea for Harry Potter suddenly "fell into her head". Rowling gives an account of the experience on her website saying:
"I had been writing almost continuously since the age of six but I had never been so excited about an idea before. I simply sat and thought, for four (delayed train) hours, and all the details bubbled up in my brain, and this scrawny, black-haired, bespectacled boy who did not know he was a wizard became more and more real to me."

CREEPER - ISLANDS

Right from the start i was stabbed in the heart
Didn't know i wasn't breathing
Didn't know i had been bleeding
Open my door thought i was alone but
Someone was hiding
In the dark room in my home

Hey (honey?), you will remember some of it
But if you solve it
You will remember all of it

Creeper in my home
Crawled in through the window
I grabbed the kitchen knife
Couldn't stick it in
No, Creeper had his own
Shining in the moonlight
My home was very cold
And something didn't feel right

Right from the start i was stabbed in the heart
Didn't know i wasn't breathing
Didn't know i had been bleeding
open my door thought i was alone but
Someone was hiding
In the dark room in my home

Right from the start i was stabbed in the heart
Didn't know i wasn't breathing
Didn't know i had been bleeding
Open my door thought i was alone but
Someone was hiding
In the dark room in my home

Right from the start i was stabbed in the heart
Didn't know i wasn't breathing
Didn't know i had been bleeding
Open my door thought i was alone but
Someone was hiding
In the dark room in my home

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

Catch Me If You Can is a 2002 American comedy-drama  film based on the life of Frank Abagnale Jr., who, before his 19th birthday, successfully conned millions of dollars by posing as a Pan American World Airways pilot, a Georgia doctor and Louisiana attorney and parish prosecutor. His primary crime was check forgery, becoming so skillful that the FBI eventually turned to him for help in catching other check forgers. Steven Spielberg directed the film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Abagnale and Tom Hanks as Hanratty as well as Christopher Walken, Amy Adams, Martin Sheen, and Nathalie Baye.
Development for the film started as far back as 1980. With the beginning of the 21st century, filmmakers such as David Fincher, Gore Verbinski, Lasse Hallström, Miloš Forman and Cameron Crowe were at one point involved with Catch Me if You Can. Spielberg (who was originally involved as producer) decided to become the project's director, dropping out of Big Fish and Memoirs of a Geisha. Filming took place from February to May 2002. Catch Me If You Can received financial and critical success, and the real Abagnale greeted the film positively.

IF I CLOSE MY EYES FOREVER - OZZY OSBOURNE & LITA FORD

Baby, I get so scared inside and I don't really understand
Is it love that's on your mind or is it fantasy

Heaven, is in the palm of my hand, and it's waiting here foryou
What am I supposed to do with a childhood tragedy

CHORUS:
If I close my eyes forever
Will it all remain unchanged
If I close my eyes forever
Will it all remain the same

Sometimes it's hard to hold on
So hard to hold on to my dreams
It isn't always what it seems
When you're face to face with me

You're like a dagger
And you stick me in the heart
And taste the blood from my blade
And when we sleep would you shelter me
In your warm and darkened grave

repeat CHORUS

Will you ever take me

No, I just can't take the pain

But would you ever trust me

No, I'll never feel the same...Ohh.

I know I've been so hard on you.
I know Ive told you lies.
If i could have just one more wish.
I'd wipe the cobb webs from my eyes.

CHORUS

Close your eyes
Close your eyes
you gotta close your eyes for me.
